How do I sell my bicycle, and for what resale price to expect?

Regarding the resell value of an international bike:
Usually, bikes of premium etc of grade depreciate around 20-30% once it hits the road and is in use. Due to the higher quality of the bike, it may not depreciate much. But the second time buyers will be having their own sentiments over the bike's real worthiness. So ultimately, the price of the bikes will be aligning with the market demand and worthiness.
Modes of resale
  • Direct sales to individual buyers will be usually better but come with all hassles of dealing with strangers and taking care of all sales stages. Selling via social forums / groups as an example. Beware of dealing with total strangers when selling the bike on pre-owned market places and take cautions.
  • Selling to third-party sellers might cost you another 10%-20% fee depending on bikes and efforts. But ensures that they take care of the sales. The buyer might get benefitted from top-class inspection/service/guarantee from the selling place. Customers get assurity on genuineness. You get assistance in this space for hassle-free selling.
  • When you exchange / trade-in the for another bike, usually the fetched value will be much less. Just like the way you exchange an old phone for a new phone. We don't do this as the buyers do not gain value for their bikes.
The best shop to get pre-owned bicycles in India at affordable cost is Cycling Boutique as we collect, curate and showcase old bicycles of great worthiness and life.
