Fulcrum Racing 4 DB
RACING 4 DB - The cult Italian racing legacy in its true form - from the legendary Campagnolo!
35mm is the sweet spot point for the mid-profile rim. When we start to talk about aerodynamics, stability at high speeds, and maximum steering precision. Racing 4 DB is a sturdy, precise aluminum wheel with sophisticated features such as straight-head spokes and the 2-Way Fit Ready profile, all in one super competitive package that's ready to race.
It is the perfect range for those looking for aerodynamics and ideal for triathletes as well as rouleurs who are eager to perform well on the climbs. Every watt will enhance performance, every turn will be executed with precision.
Anti-Rotation System™
This new system raises the concept of spoking to a new level of performance for road bike and triathlon wheels ( and MTB too)
The Fulcrum® engineers have redesigned the spokes and the hub housings to create a solid and unmoveable whole. The result is that the spokes
a) will never lose their initial tension, thus keeping the wheel perfectly reactive and centered
b) will remain in the position that has been studied in the wind tunnel tests to ensure the best aerodynamic penetration possible.
Right from its inception, Fulcrum® has been marked by the feature that continues to this day: that is to design, prototype, and industrialization all the wheels characterized by the red “F”.
Indeed these take shape inside of the R&D, the leading-edge department that represents the beating heart of the Italian company.
Every single component of the wheel, the materials chosen, and the technologies applied are the tangible result of the effort that Fulcrum® makes every day to give you maximum performance and reliability.
What Is This?
To ensure the best performance and reliability of its products, each project, before going into the production stage, must be submitted to a series of severe tests that validate what has been conceived and designed up to that moment (fatigue test, crash test, tire burst test, environment test, 100% manually assembled and electronically checked).
This is why, from its 2012 range, Fulcrum® wanted to supply each wheel with its own Identity Card (F.I.C.) which uniquely identifies the wheel and certifies that it has been manually assembled and has passed all tests required by the strict quality protocol.
AFS Axle System™
The Axial Fixing System™ is the solution developed by Fulcrum® to fix the disc brake to the hub. The constraint granted by the butt area of the release mechanism, greater than in familiar standard ones, makes it possible to obtain greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.
Compatibility
The availability of the International Standard option ensures full compatibility of Fulcrum® wheels even with the most widespread braking systems that use this assembly plan.
Monoblock Hub for Disc
The rear hub of a top-quality disc brake wheel is a technical problem to be solved. Fulcrum®’s R&D department found itself facing a fundamental choice: on which side to put the oversize flange of the Two-to-one™ system? Disc or sprocket side? Without question - must stay on the sprocket side.
To combat the loss of braking power from flex and torque of the connector between the two sides of the hub, a special one-piece system has been devised with internal stiffening ribs.
The End Result
The end result is maximum torque transmission while pedaling and forces coming from the disc on the opposite side when braking.
In this way, the system works both accelerating and braking when spokes that are more numerous and with more dishes are involved.
At the same time, the other side confirms the spokes’ radial layout, saving precious weight.
It shall be the end user’s sole and full responsibility to choose - on a case-by-case basis – an adequate and correct rim-tire-pressure combination, as well as to conduct all verifications necessary to ascertain the correctness and safety of such combination.
Without prejudice to the above, and in order to ensure optimum rolling resistance, grip, and, most importantly, safety, we recommend that the end-user, in making his choice, also takes into consideration the recommended combinations of hooked rim width, tire width and tire pressure indicated in the chart set forth below.
Due to safety reasons, follow the information of the tire manufacturer regarding the minimum and maximum rim width to be used but always ensure that the combination is listed as possible in this table.

Please Follow the Specific Fitting Procedure Here Below:
This procedure transforms Racing 4/5/6/7 DB and Racing 400/500/600/700/800/900 DB wheels (designed to be used with a clincher tire and inner tube) into tubeless Ready wheels (i.e. with a Tubeless Easy tire, no inner tube and compulsory use of a sealant liquid).
To ensure the correct transformation of the wheels, it is obligatory to respect the procedure explained below.
Use of tubeless and tubeless-ready tires is forbidden on 2-way Fit Ready rims without official Fulcrum 2-way Fit Ready adhesive tape.
Please note In the event of a puncture consequently requiring the use of an inner tube, for the tire to be correctly mounted you cannot use a portable mini-pump but must use a CO2 canister.
It is extremely important that the full length of the tape applied adheres completely to the center and does not cover any part of the inner walls of the rim, which will be in contact with the tire beads. This is to prevent the tire bead from detaching from the wheel during inflation or use, which could cause accidents and lead to severe or even fatal injury (Fig. 6 / Fig. 7).
Be very careful not to damage the rim surface with the blade of the cutter in order to conserve the anodization rim treatment. This prevents oxidation, which can reduce the life of the rim due to fatigue.
*NOTE: The "Racing 400 DB" custom model has the same technical features as the "Racing 4 DB" model described here
