Perfectly suiting the marauding solo break specialist or triathlon courses with a good dose of climbing, the Vanquish RC6 Performance wheels seamlessly blend speed, control, and style while remaining cost-effective.
The full carbon rims are handmade at HED's headquarters in Minnesota from a high-grade 150 GSM carbon material, ensuring exceptional lateral stiffness for significant power efforts, reduced weight, and increased strength. The carbon is formed into a HED patented, wind tunnel sculpted, 61mm deep rim profile that slices through the air and reduces the effect of gusts when navigating exposed roads. Additionally, the rim's 21mm internal measurement increases tire sidewall support, lowering rolling resistance and improving impact resistance when using energy-saving decreased inflation pressures. The inner rim format is hooked, permitting the rider a choice between the fastest tubeless-ready or standard clincher tires.
HED's in-house designed GP Performance hubs spin smoothly, accept Center Lock disc brake rotors, and are linked to the rims via Sapim CX-Sprint spokes arranged in two-cross lacing patterns, front, and rear.
Tubeless Tires:
Try the formulas below for a good road bike tubeless tire inflation pressure starting point. As already stated, these pressure suggestions are based and can be adjusted up or down by up to 3-4 psi in line with personal preferences and road conditions. These recommendations are based on using HED rims with a 21mm internal measurement and a hooked tire interface. These recommendations are also based on using a bike, clothing, and any luggage totaling roughly 9kg in weight.
For example, a 70kg rider using a 28mm tire would be suggested a tire pressure of 60.2 psi. (70 x 0.86 = 60.2 psi)
More of the rider's weight is placed over the rear tire, so to afford balanced handling of the bike, the front tire can be inflated by 2-3 psi less. We usually split this difference between the front and rear tires, so our 70kg example rider from above using a 28mm tire would use 61.2 psi in the rear tire and 59.2 psi in the front tire.
Clincher Tires:
Use the same calculations as above, but add three psi.
The maximum recommended pressures for the different-width tires are as follows:
If your pressure calculation results in a psi above the maximum recommended pressure for any tire width, try going up a tire width size.
If your pressure calculation results in pressure higher than the maximum recommended psi, you can still use the tire, but you shouldn't inflate it higher than the top recommendation. If you are using a tire at a lower psi recommendation than your pressure calculation, please be aware there could be a greater risk of rim damage from a tire bottoming out over harsh road imperfections such as potholes.
Wet Weather: Reduce the pressure by around 2-3 psi to help with cornering grip on slippery roads.
